Joan F. Morgan launched The JFM Group– a special projects, development,
re-positioning and fund-raising event company - after having been
an Emmy award-winning television producer. At that time she decided
to transfer her television production skills to more cause related
projects. For 15 years, her company produced approximately 30 major
special events and projects per year. Her television experience, combined
with event management experience and fund-raising has always distinguished
JFM from other event production companies.
From
1997 through 1999 Joan took a hiatus from fund-raising and event
production and became the first Executive Director of New Yorkers
For Children (NYFC). NYFC is the first not-for-profit agency in
the history of New York City created to work in partnership with
the City's child welfare agency, the Administration for Children's
Services. As Executive Director, she helped put the organization
on the map by encouraging influential and committed New Yorkers
to join the Board of Directors, focused the programs and services
to improve the quality of life for children in foster care, and
helped to raise the initial 3 million dollars to fund these innovative,
pioneer programs.
In January 2000, Joan returned to special projects
and fund-raising events, this time as The JFM Group. At that
time, New Yorkers For Children became her first new client, and
the beginning of an exciting new chapter in JFM’s history.
Joan has worked with a broad range of organizations.
Joan specializes in fund-raising start-up efforts as well as working
with organizations to retool their focus, goals and reach. Joan’s
interests and concentration areas are projects that benefit women,
children and the arts. The scope of the projects outlined in the
current client list demonstrates the creativity, vision, short and
long-term planning, organizational and repositioning skills, as
well as the fund-raising strategizing, flexibility, and diplomacy
The JFM Group provides.
